Legendary Golfer Arnold Palmer Died At 87

Loved and respected by peers and fans alike, Arnold Palmer made golf popular in the United States and on TV. His achievements as a professional golfer paved the way for such greats as Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, and others.

During his illustrious career which started in the 1950s, Palmer won numerous events on both the PGA Tour and Champions Tour. Palmer won the 1960 U.S. Open and two British Opens (in 1961 and 1962). It is hard to believe, but the man recognized as America’s best golf player never won a PGA Championship.

In addition to being a first-class golfer, Arnold Palmer was also a successful businessman, a top-notch spokesman and author of several books on golf.
